How can moving all the registers to a central location save money? Could someone please explain this to me cause my managers can't.

I have been in line for 30 min. Unreal!
Thanks for all the replies! I'm in a mid size store in north Mississippi
Basically only two registers open, occassionally customers will go to cosmetics or jewelry to be checked out.
Wahen you're the only one at the register, the customers reply
this is ridiculous, why dont they open more registers, and bless you heart, the customer service is declining.
Moving registers to front of store has been in the plans for a few years now....all part of making Belk into the Kohl's model, just like what they have done with shoes, which looks terrible!! The reason people shopped at Belk was for an upscale feel, and customer service, now they have taken both away...the customers get less and less and they don't seem to mind.
Stein Mart did this before final liquidation. They had one register at the front with a sign that said "all sales final, no return or exchange" signs like Belk may be headed in that direction. Why would you want to SELL more stuff, but take AWAY the selling staff? All signs point in one direction..........!!!
When are the doing this . What is your Location
They won't need as many associates
