Is this sale still in the works? Or are they having trouble finding a buyer?

Any company(s) that we think will make a purchase of Watson Health or it’s parts?

Word is that Watson Health is not renewing their lease on their huge Ann Arbor office (100 Phoenix Drive, Ann Arbor, MI). Lease is up at the end of this year. Google the real estate listing, if interested. Make of it what you will.

Sorry to interrupt, and no offense to anyone, but can we get back to Watson Health? Is there any new news on the sale of Watson Health? Not Watson the computer thing, but the Watson Health that was created by the merging of different healthcare companies?

No, Watson Health is not going to Kyndryl. Nor is TSS (explicitly excluded). Nor Power nor Storage nor any other products. Kyndryl will run and manage technology infrastructure for its customers; end of.

I don't know whether some people are just paying no attention whatsoever, but the fantasy unloading of undesirable businesses onto Kyndryl that goes on around here is just bizarre.

Maybe IBM will dispose of Power, if they can find a buyer - they managed to find a buyer for Notes, so apparently anything is possible - but it won't be by shoving it onto Kyndryl's books.

This is the game plan that AK and the bean counters have put together. It’s financial engineering 101. Load up Kyndryl with the “goodwill” and dump it out of Hybrid IBM. Kyndryl’s future is a financial position slightly above “junk” status. They will get all of Sam and Ginni’s bad investments. Kyndryl will be saddled with legacy over payment for poor investment ideas vs current cash flow. You can make the numbers work, BUT you have to ruthlessly cut costs. Hybrid IBM will gain some breathing room because the legacy overpayment will be Kyndryl’s problem.

I agree with @tkd+ and @fou+ . IBM needs Systems but prefers not to own it. They want to be out of the hardware business except for Z. They need those Z clients. I'm curious how this spinoff has affected sales other than established fortune 100 clients that are usually on z. I'm guessing p-series and i-series are outta luck.

Any guesses as to which companies might be bidding on Watson Health?

Is Storage and TSS going to Kyndryl?

Most likely moving to Kyndryl. Reason being is IBM can dictate the price. Same for other pieces of IBM that are shrinking (Power, Storage, TSS, and TPP)
