This will come off as a bit of a rant however there is new information as well. Frankly, if you want to make some snarky, juvenile or purile comment go take a flying leap.
It's been decided and communicated that hybrid personnel will have to report to the office a minimum of 5 days a month. Why? What the predinkle he!!??? How did Yi, in his infinite wisdom come up with 5 days a month? Not one day a week, but 5 days a month? I work in an area where I don't need to go into the office. Seriously, without going into what I do because I don't trust executive NOT to be petty and force me to face repercussions for my opinion, there is ABSOLUTELY ZERO need for or benefit to the company for me to go into an office (& that has been proven by the last 15 months). Why are my peers and I being forced to do this? Even the leadership that gave us this BS info wasn't buying it. You could tell by the tone of their voice what they think about this...
Here's the hilarious part: As tight as Tipsord is, State Farm is now going to (A) replace the two monitors I have at home so I have them at the office. Along with a chair, docking station, keyboard & mouse. (B) Pay for wasted space for a cubicle that I will only be using 5 days a month. (C) We aren't allowed to move to where we want to live (even on our own dime) because of this. Of course, it's a fine way to have readily available workers when Yi's Plug & Play idea goes into effect and people with 20+ years of experience in Fire Co get put in Auto & vice versa. Obviously, Yi isn't smart enough to learn from the last time they tried that and had a mass exodus.
Next time I hear about "expense management" I'm going to laugh in someone's face. I truly wonder what the rationale is behind this asinine decision other than controlling people and their lives (unless of course, 6-12 months down the road we all become victims of Plug & Play)... If people NEED to be with their co-workers that much, if they are that insecure or rely on work for their social needs that much, they really need to reexamine their lives.
I've been with SF for between 20-30 years. I have golden handcuffs and really can't leave right now, but now I know to change plans on when I plan on walking out the door.
