Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Expect layoffs for 273 very soon

People were talking about bringing in Aviation into 273 because this big building is not being used in the fullest capacity possible. They keep shrinking the bar shop and Consolidating the jobs. I wonder why? Eventually one guy will be doing 3 jobs at once and all those clowns who agreed to the CA agreement just sacrificed union bid jobs for a buck and to keep members employed for a year longer. Well it’s coming up on a year and the bar shop is continuing to shrink at an alarming rate. Soon the t rates will continue shrink as well.

Aside from what was already stated about the facilities in Schenectady, a majority of those who work here don't have the right mentality to get the workload done the way it would need to be done. I bet most of the people who read "FOD" had to google it to find out what it means. The ventilators didn't come after all that ridiculous grandstanding last year. Good thing it didn't because we'd still be working on getting the first one out the door. Aviation isn't coming either. It would be a Trojan horse if it did. People need to get out of this dump and see the rest of the world to get a true understanding of where and who they really are. The egos would implode!

I would be shocked if any aviation work ever came to 273.
I have worked for the largest aerospace company in the US since I left GE in 2014. The Schenectady plant is an absolutely filthy septic septic tank when compared to an aviation grade manufacturing facility and it is not in any way remotely able to be set up for an anti FOD environment.
On second thought, considering was a blunder it would be to bring that work to Schenectady………they will probably try it. Good luck!

There won't be any work coming to Schnectady from Aviation or Renewables, or anywhere else, and with fewer than 1 generator per month for next year, it doesn't look good. Larry will use the reverse stock split as the reason for getting rid of more people in the very near future.

It makes little, to no sense to bring Aviation in any capacity, to Schenectady. There is a HUGE aviation presence in Dayton. We barely have airports here where basic maintenance can be performed on a puddle jumper. Whoever is talking, is an id--t!
