Does it even exist here?

Work-life balance is your decision. It's up to you, to say that you have no time, that you wont make it. Often it requires us to admit we have failed our estimates.
If you see the deadline is unreachable - communicate it transparently.
If your manager/PM sets a meeting at an absurd hour - communicate it clearly. If meetings rob you of your focus time - express it...
There are PMs that work 17h a day here, but its their problem. Don't be like them...

If you cant cope with the above - quit. EOT.

I have been trying to stay positive for a quite long time now, but I am done.
I agree with everything written above.
I have never seen so unprofessional PMs in my life. I am not kidding, I am not hating, I am not trolling.
The things I see week after week are just unbelievable.
No proper training and experience as a PM. No technical background. No idea how software is built or designed.
Just one thing remains on a high level:
ego.

Most developers are not in control of their work life-balance. The project manager seems to constantly make them do work after hours work. Constant chats and emails at 9PM inquiring about the status of the different features and project. Then the same PM leads constant discussions requesting to reduce the estimated hours. Teams spend endless hours recording their work in Rally and the PM demands more and more documentation in Rally. Beware of those with the knowledge of one book. Scrum is the tool to constantly demand more work from the software engineers. They have to provide explanation via email on what was already recorded in Rally. This approach simply does not work. This is a ONE WAY communication with engineers. There is no collaboration between engineers and stake holders. The approach does not work. The modified scrum is quite dysfunctional. The PM is constantly trying to figure how to trick people into doing more work. But this is not always what needs to be done. The PM does not have any technical background and feels intimated when talking to developers. The daily scrum meetings are merely status meetings with an angry PM. The environment is toxic.

work life balance is your choice and as a home based employee, you either do or dont make it happen. Sure, there is enough work to keep you busy 24/7 but you also have a life outside. Try a little Headspace too

About 5 years ago there was work-life balance in my team. Then things started changing gradually. In 2018 the balance was gone. I remember working 12 hour day then. Management acknowledged sacrifice in order to make the project successful. The 60 hour weeks continued but in 2020 management seemed to be unhappy. Even that was not enough - no more gratitude. I too decided to quit. Currently I work 8 hour days, get paid training and a higher salary.

I believe it's a euphemism to lure naïve people... I also believe most of us truly live in He-l on Earth as what ALL the rulers made it to be... it's called a "LIfE..."
