Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Then and now

When I worked for Lowe’s I was so consumed with work that I became constantly fatigued. Any interests I had outside of work fell to the wayside including family and friends. I was always angry or moody because of how much was expected from me to be productive. I’ve been gone for a little over 6 months and I have never felt so relaxed or carefree. My new job allows me to grow and we have enough employees where we aren’t overworked. My advice to you all - if you are feeling the way I did, leave. There are so many options available right now that you have no reason to be stuck in a place like that if you don't want to be.

$20 an hour for an Appliance Specialist. I would laugh at that. He should have asked for $25.

At my store we're losing an average of three people a week. Not new hires but associates who have been with Lowe's a while now. Today we had 5 call offs on the front end, all were the $15.00/hour wonder noobs. One of our appliance specialists turned in his two weeks, they asked him what would it take to stay. He told them $20.00/hour. He leaves next week for a high end appliance dealer that has their own delivery trucks.
