Thread regarding Gainwell Technologies layoffs

Any thoughts on the change in PTO policy for HMS employees?

The sudden change of the PTO policy for HMS employees (going to unlimited PTO from a monthly accrual basis) has me a bit concerned. Usually when they start changing things is when they are preparing for something like a RIF.... any thoughts on that?

The reason DXC did this (prior to becoming Gainwell Technologies) is so they don't have to pay out accrued vacation if you are layed off.

Unlimited means after you get approval from your 7 middle managers

Wow! I must have missed something. I didn't hear anything about this. (Probably in a corporate email that went to my delete folder!)

I already have more PTO than I know what to do with at this point. On my account, you can only use a small number of hours in a rolling 6-month period (unexcused) or you are in big trouble. I don't have a bunch of appointments or anything to even use PTO and we are not allowed to schedule it as vacation.

It is bad enough that we are limited as to how much vacation we can use (even if we are low on work). "Unlimited" does not mean anything when your management can just tell you that it is limited!

Yeah I read that last week and I didn't know what to think of it at the time. My team and I digested it for about 30 mins, and it could go either way. If it works it could be nice. But if you never take PTO - then yes, its to the companies benefit not the employees. I read the article mentioned above and it has some valid points. I just wish they would give you the check of the balance of the PTO immediately rather than wait until you leave the company.

That coupled with Maria Perrin’s sudden departure... there are no HMS executives left except Jake. I’d take heed HMS’ers... something is about to go down...

You should be concerned.
