This post is not very clear. Associate has been warned for leaving her post without telling anyone and when asked where she was, "bathroom" was always the excuse. Associate was also known to take "longer" than normal and made stops at the lunch room for a drink or chat with other associates on break. All the manager wanted was for her to tell someone she was going to the bathroom. It all got twisted.
Its a freaking store...its not NASA.....go take your dump.
good luck finding someone to tell
To the last responder: Really?!!
The protocol is: you let a co-worker know that you will be off the floor and you take care of business. Period. That way those that care know where you are. However, one should never, and I mean NEVER, have to "ask" to take care of a normal bodily function. At work or otherwise. Do you work in the United States?
So you would want a sales person to just walk off the floor without asking to use the restroom?
Who in this day and age would ask to go to the bathroom??? You TELL them you are going to the bathroom.. . Scared they will fire you? Good get more on unemployment...they can't find people. You have the advantage...fire me for using the restroom ....any attorney will love this case...
Absolutely right 2qmi. If things were going better for Macy’s no one would have cared.
Or it wasn’t the reason the person was fired. It was the reason that SOUNDED GOOD. It only became a terminating offense when Macy’s was looking for ways to reduce its payroll.
it is illegal to tell someone that can't use the restroom.
Good.
Ur----y tract infections are no fun. So many retail workers end up with UTIs because they cannot go to the restroom when necessary and hold it. Good riddance to that controlling manager!
Yep.. bingo .. any reason to fire someone they will do it.. how long as manager there working? years? months? normal you would just tell coworkers you have to go to the bathroom and just go do it.. i think this is a lawsuit
