Thread regarding Sabre Holdings layoffs

No one mentions layoffs anymore

Is it just quiet before the storm or can I relax a bit if they aren’t on the horizon for a while longer?

Good thing ranking list is gone in APAC, so it was just your luck to pull your name from the hat to decide who went. It’s a Sad and Hard thing to watch our company change in this manner. Now running 20% lower headcount than 2019 (per SM this morning) do not know if that includes APAC rif.

APAC had a reorg & layoff exercise yesterday. Airline sales & support teams were impacted.

No layoffs now.
Next spring: wolverine will not deliver, Ssre wil not deliver, MFOL will not deliver. Someone will need to be a scapegoat...
And it shal not be SM ...

How do you know that the forced ranking is officially dead?

There is always the unofficial list kept by someone, just in case…

Is it dead cause it was considered silly and unfair, or just because there is no need to fire anyone for a time being?

As a manager I got sick of having to make someone on my team under the bar. For the most part, everyone was doing a great job with a heavy workload.

Regardless of the situation the company always has forced ranking list to be ready with correction/impact moves as needed. Appear to be teetering just above line now before having to make more adjustments.

No layofs now. Company is barely running on this headcount. A big collapse next year, but now no more than just minor 'corrections'
