I’d like to see HO come to any store location and work a day in our shoes. There is so damn much expected of us and for once I’d like them to experience just ONE LOUSY SHIFT. Maybe then we’d be treated with respect instead of always getting the cr---y end of the deal.

Jus as an FYI, and I do not know that they still do, but when I worked for Walmart corporate we had to go every year and work in the stores for a week. That was 20 years ago though.
Right on @ 5pf you are spot on. For those of you who are brainwashed, get real. This guy spells it all out and its FACT! Everything looks good on paper but try to implement it in a store what cannot keep staffed, cannot stay afloat and when you speak up, you are being negative! Management and market office says you are being unproductive and threaten you with your jobs if you don't do what "they want". Unrealistic expectations, too much work for 1 person. Can't keep people, ge-z why not? Because people are an afterthought. . Get real. Gone are the days when "Our People Make the Difference", gone are merit raises, gone are treating people with respect".
This guy sounds like the reason we have to watch that video every month
@5pf STFU Doug. Things have definitely changed since you last worked in a store 40 years ago. 40 years ago, Sam was still around and listened to his associates. 40 years ago, stores were staffed properly. 40 years ago, Walmart rewarded their associates for their hard work. 40 years ago, you could have a career at Walmart. 40 years ago, people were proud to work at Walmart.
Today? Associates are an afterthought to the entire store operation. Today, you bend over backwards to keep shareholders happy. Today, you ensure associates don't get enough hours to get benefits. Today, you refuse to consider that your associates can only work certain hours because of outside lives and commitments. Today, there is no respect for the individual. Today, you expect your associates to do the jobs of 2-3 people for the pittance you 'reward' them with. Today, you implement store policies that work on paper (because they save the shareholders money) but absolutely fail in the stores.
Anyone see any issues here?
Do you really think they never worked in stores? Do you really think they don’t know what goes on? Have you seen the latest profit numbers? Maybe they know exactly what’s going on, it’s working, and they just don’t care if you like your job cause they still making the shareholders money
they say it isn't broken that stores aren't on process. Yah ok. Work a day in our shoes. Call ins galore, tons of freight, not enough people to do the work, work poured on those who show up day after day, unrealistic expectations. Here is a thought, hey corporate work a day in the stores and see exactly what we deal with and you won't be so damn quick to tell us we aren't on process because we are trying to do the best we can and stay afloat.
Amen too many unrealistic expectations. Not enough people.
Whoa -- someone sounds extremely cranky! Sometimes, a good purging session is all it takes!
What a ton of whining babies! If you don’t like it, I’m sure there’s open positions available at your local fast food jo--t. Perhaps if you actually did your job things would fall into place as they should. Go ahead, quit. Walmart will be better off without you.
But ya know, Doug (CEO) started out throwing trucks eons ago, so using that example, it probably wouldn't make any difference.
If they did that, they might find out how broken it is!
