It's always been "stay or leave" with regard to compensation with GF, but under different guises... in the early early years, it was be glad you have a job during/post recession, then later it was failures of 32,28,22,20nm or "softening demand" (conveniently always in the March timeframe).
GF has no intention of being exceptional. Just another corporation. You're a number. If you're replaceable they will do the bare minimum for you. Don't be sentimental about the place. Always look out for yourself. If you like torture, there are plenty of semi- jobs, just not in this area.
