I don't know of a company that particularly values the critical thinking of its employees, but I don't know a company in this industry that values critical feedback less than State Farm does. The company has been cultivating a “yes man” culture for years. It bothers me, of course, but I'm almost used to it.
How much do you think this "yes" culture negatively affects many aspects of the company's business?

Tippy! Step aside! Under your rules, you made enough. Move aside and give it to WE THE WORKERS to make it better than your ALL ABOUT ME a--! You're a whimp! Let real men lead! Get it?
It is pretty much a factory assembly line job. Do as you are told, and if you don't like it you can leave approach. Once I realized the company's position, it is much easier to become detached mentally and accept that it is not for me. I have been offered a new job with better compensation, benefits, and pension. There is life beyond State Farm and they are not the only game in town. If you are talented, driven, and have years ahead of your career, do yourself a favor by getting off the fence and pusuit stability and happiness.
@1atg. Scary totalitarian regime.
I was in leadership reporting to Bloomington. I can tell you unequivocally there is a filter for bad news. You don’t stay on the chmn council by challenging the direction. It’s his team, his ball and his playground.
Critical, smart, analytical and non brainwashed people need not apply lol.
So true. At every level. If ya look good though. Your in
So many long term Managers and Directors that need to go (and their LDA understudies)
In Claims, nobody listens to to claims employees. Whether it be staffing, unrealistic expectations/metrics, workloads, or processes that waste time and run up expenses. Ours is not to reason why, ours is to be in SLO and provide quality claim handling with the minimal amount of staffing possible, that's just the gig we are in! They don't get it because the yes men only tell the emperor he looks good na--d. As a result, we are seeing employees abort.
