I dont think the announcement regarding Etihad leaving Sabre has been made public yet.
Most likely due to the fact Etihad is not renewing with Sabre and has signed a contract with Amadeus.
What is with the stay relevant in the market place? Are all these old timers needed? How will they stick around? Until they are 90? Anyone can come up with product/process improvements, make use of different channels, etc. Actually they are already trying to rewrite the airline system with project Wolverine. Is the new product any better? I don't know. On the other hand any airline that has in house built software can offer it as a product to other airlines.
I’m not a fan of SM but we needed somebody to buck the old timers and make changes to stay relevant in the marketplace. Who knew the world would shift so fast and change so many markets at one time. Staying the course was not a option 4 years ago and now it’s keep charging ahead or look for a buyer and all the C levels bailout with parachutes.
The culture of the company after SM joined is just so dramatically different.
Sabre employees were so proud of this campus, we had news articles written about it, we gave tours. Amazing pride and culture (formally at Sabre). Now ?
not so much
It's the clap.
Sean Menke is what happened to Sabre. Look at the stock history. Since he took over the company stock has been declining for years. The id--t sold the southlake buildings then leased 1 back. Can't believe shareholders let this guy drive the company to the ground. Trust me it's not covid. It's Sean Menke that's the problem.
Yeah, just from the market sell-off on monday due to delta variant up-tick and worries over more potential travel shutdowns. But don't worry, it won't bounce back for a while anyway.
lol AA has sued Sabre more times than I can count.
The drop in price is reflected in virus upticks and worries
