Stop worrying about all the knowledgeable associates leaving or getting fired. Lowe’s is hiring new people. But if course there is no one left to train them. Stop worrying about the schedules. Soon most customers will stop coming and you won’t need as many associates. Stop worrying about LTR, IRP, AP4ME, LSR, Lowe’s U and work list. Lowe’s will throw a PIZZA PARTY and that solves everything!

Lowe's figurative ship is sinking and the knowledgeable/seasoned staff is heading for the exit doors at breakneck speed. Near zero job security among full time staff and I fear it is just a matter of time before all that is left will be MST, stockers and a hand full of part-timers working the departments.
As I see it the only hope for the company is that our store comps start to fall and Home Depot's lead over us once again starts to widen. Then the board will have a hard time answering to their hedge fund masters and the pressure will be on to replace the marvelous one. Sadly even if that scenario plays out the damage to the company will already be done and will take years to undo. Cutting your way to profitability seldom works out well for businesses. Improving efficiency without sacrificing quality yes, but that is hardly what we have been doing. Being on the leading edge of the industry that your in is usually the answer but as long as we keep following the other teams 10 year old playbook I don't see how that will ever advance us ahead of the other guy (i.e., HD).
