Cabinet specialist were told today that the position is eliminated as of July 30th.
Can apply for other open specialist positions in the store or market or take a CSA 4 position.
Is this company wide ?

Do we know anymore about this? I am in San Antonio (well right outside of the limits) and it hasn't happened here yet? I wonder if they are going to make multiple rounds of this? Start in some markets and then bam all of us?
They did it here in Utah . They kept one appliances specialist and our two cabinet specialists and now the two cabinets specialists are appliance specialist too and the appliance special is going to do cabinets
It's a systematic elimination of the higher paid associates. We are kidding ourselves if we think it's not coming to all of us eventually. What a bunch of overpaid di-kheads at corporate, region and market levels.
What a mistake. This is one of the areas a specialist is really needed. This is going to cost Lowes more than they going to save.
In a lot of stores they are better off if they stay and the same pay and get the Winning Together bonus. Marvin and his band of id--ts are making the SPH impossible to reach.

Based on the comments thus far it appears that it is being implemented in some lower volume stores. Sorry you are finding out that Lowe's is not much for rewarding employee loyalty. Hopefully those affected will get to keep their current pay rate but will obviously be losing any potential SPH bonus.
