Exxplore program

Request anyone currently or planned to go on exxplore expat assignments, post insights of benefits and allowance for expat assignments.

From last year may 2020 , GBIP program is phased out slowly.

Is it worth to opt for this program?.

The details in goto/hr shows there is literally zero benefits?.

The point with all these programs should be to “keep you whole”, I.e you are not worse off my going on the assignment.

As someone rightly pointed out, these assignments are to develop the individual rather than provide skills to a location which needs them.

Exxpkore program provides a lump sum payment before the start to help you move, your flights paid and a monthly component to bridge your current salary vs. Local market I.e a big uptick if you are moving from GBC to higher cost location. Many people live relatively frugally and save some $. You get another lump sum ahead of repatriating.

The exxplore program definitely gives much less financially than the regular expat program. It might be ok if you are still early on in your career and single. I would still advice you to do your own calculations if it makes sense for you financially. It would almost definitely not make sense for you financially if you have your family with you on an exxplore assignment.

Explore program is intended for short service employees from 1-5 years experience. Therefore, it’s intent is developing early talent but the compensation package is less compared to the regular expat assignment. It’s not a family assignments.

You are getting developed. How is this not a benefit?
