Some would say that so much more could be accomplished. It's true. I wonder what this company would look like if such people were promoted and could significant layoffs and leaving of the most talented people be prevented in this way? The situation would certainly be different than it is today at Conoco.

You guys don’t sound very woke!
And yeah. I said “guys”
You won’t climb the management chain at COP with that attitude. You need to start wringing your hands and worrying about being culturally, environmentally, racially, gender equality, and ethnically sensitive if you want to prove you’re leadership material! Electric cars for all!!
I see where Chevy is recalling one of their EVs. Until then, they're recommending owners of the recalled vehicle (Bolt) not charge it unattended and keep it parked outside because it might catch on fire.
Is this the "battery tech" that's going to destroy the petroleum industry?
Hindenburg
He forgot to add the that same refueling infrastructure can be used to provide hydrogen. Instead of pulling into charging station, setting up an umbrella and a lawn chair, reading a book for an hour, while your car batteries are recharging you can fill up with hydrogen and be on your way in a few minutes.!
Exactly, that obviously an id--t That thinks that battery technology is going to collapse the oil industry. Never mind how many barrels of oil it takes to make a battery, mine the materials, smelt the metals, and of course the plastics and paints are made from petroleum products. Spent batteries present a huge pollution and disposal risk, recycling is energy consuming.
Hydrogen will be the future mobile energy source. Hydrogen produces no pollution, it’s byproduct is water. Hydrogen is renewable, electrolysis can produce hydrogen and oxygen separated from our oceans. Hydrogen can be used in combustion engines and in hydrogen fuel cells to power electric cars. Hydrogen provides a much simpler transition from combustion to electric. There is no disposal so no pollution.
Thanks for publicly demonstrating your complete ignorance of thermodynamics, economics, and the global energy demand. Do you get your adolescent talking points on Reddit?
The reaper is standing outside COP with a TESLA jacket on. COP, P66, Exxon, BP, and the like are but a few years from battery tech that will eclipse OIL/Peroleum. It will still be needed in plastics. But drilling for oil will in my mind drastically change. Green tech is here. Big oil were sleeping when the bear walked in.
Man!
HR is really earning their $$$ today!
Conoco does promote the people that deserve it that’s why you have continuously been left out. Do us all a favor and leave!
It probably doesn’t matter. OPEC+ turning the spigots on/off is what really determines the fate of this and similar companies. This is particularly relevant in an era of reduced capital expenditures and exploration, as the ELT is less likely to sc--w things up with another boneheaded decision.
If they promoted people who really deserved it, Champ and most of the ELT would still be sitting on wellsites in Oklahoma, occasionally getting coffee for the drillers.
People who really deserve promotions ask thoughtful questions and challenge preconceived notions. Those are exactly the kind of people who got laid off. COP is only interested in promoting the next generation of clueless managers. If you’re a loudmouth empty headed know it all, you’ll do fine.
