You are fooling yourself if you think Red Hat will stay independent. AK just started the consolidation of his power and the blue-washing of Red Hat has just accelerated big time. IBM always destroys the company it acquires.

Other than Jim, lots of Red Hat folks are leaving to VMW , Rancher , Goog … etc
Under IBM, Red Hat sent droves of CentOS users straight into the competition's welcoming arms.
Why on earth would you pay 34 billion dollars for a company you were already in partnership with just to let it remain a partnership?
IBM paid 34B so it can control Red Hat. It was/is a Hail Mary to gain relevance in the marketplace. Sure, let the dust settle from the acquisition. Let it appear like Red Hat is still Red Hat. Paul Cormier can shout that from the rooftops and claim he has his own back office, his own HR, whatever. But IBM are the ones calling the shots. It's only a matter of time until they make an absolute disaster of it. Doubt me? Let history be your guide.

Take a look at both Tivoli and Qradar as great exams of Red Hat's future. Both were industry leaders before IBM bought them. Today, no one knows who Tivoli is anymore and Qradar is a joke going up against Splunk. RIP Red Hat!

Yeah, some anonymous person in the internet knows what the IBM BoD have planned. The problem for Red Hat is that they're now tied to the world's worst tech company. Blue washing, no blue washing, it doesn't matter. Red Hat is toast because it got into bed with IBM.
