Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Customer centric scheduling

Heard that my store is going to customer centric scheduling next month. Manager told me and she said it's awful.

Can someone explain it? Thanks.

It's supposedly a way to eeek out every minute of your day to be busy. It does not include trucks that show up, pulling internet orders, helping with a code 50. it's completely unrealistic. The poor SSA who is stuck pulling someone from one area to another to fit the perfect schedule together? Over 55% turnover in that one store position alone! The entire idea is stupid and unrealistic. At our store and the ones in the area we try to give the 2 days off together. Who gets the heat? Take a guess. I expect to be fired in the morning for speaking my mind. I'm out. I have 18 months worth of documentation to show a hostile work environment. Just waiting. Too bad I have an expensive medical procedure planned, and I will have to cancel. Good luck all!

While your working every single weekend and struggling with multiple departments for 2 months straight and 1 day off after a week of working straight, Marv will be enjoying his bonuses he got off all your hard work and enjoying his family and going on vacations.

No one that values family life or, for that matter, ANY life outside of work will put up with this. I saw it coming four years ago and that’s when I got out.

I too thought this was already company wide. If you are new to this then say goodby to the predictable "matrix" schedule for full-time workers. The previous 4 week matrix schedule included one weekend off, a 2nd Sunday off (for most) and if you were lucky consecutive days off on three out of four weeks.

Customer Centric. Think of a random number generator spitting out your schedule. They (corporate) would have you believe that the schedule is generated based on an analytical analysis of department customer flow but anyone with at least two brain cells can tell you that is total BS. One weekend off every two months. Will be working most weekends and hardly ever having consecutive days off. Close/opens will happen more frequently. Shifts can vary from as little as 4 hours and up to 9/10 hours. Expect shifts of either single or no department coverage. Zero chance of predicting your upcoming schedule until it gets posted. Expect frequent schedule changes as management scrambles to manually "fix" the computer generated schedule to make up for lack of department coverage. Yet another brilliant half baked cluster F from your friends at corporate that clearly don't value you as a human being.

I schedule a two day vacation on one weekend a month and bu-t it up to two “non-paid” days off on either the Thurs./Fri. before, or the Mon./Tues after. Fck them, I’ll get my weekends. Ya hear me Marv? Shove it! Tiny Hands? Up Yours!

Yeah Marv has rooted out ALL that was good and beneficial for an employee. Now he's working on your home life and family. I agree with another commenter that it's all a ploy to get rid of full-time employees, hire cheap labor and count his and all his cronies bonuses. They (corporate) want to control every little aspect they can, even an employee having 2 days off in a row after a 6-7 day work cycle. Real low blow if your a family person.

Basically say goodbye to your life and family. They steal all that away from you.

Goes like this

1 weekend off every 2 months
Sometimes you get 2 days off in a row - if you are lucky
There is no set schedule like before where you actually count when your next days are off for like doctors appt or such
Some days you might work 9/ 10 hours then work like 5 hours on 1 day so you don't go over 40 for the week

It's total bu-----t and that is 1 reason why I quit

It’s been in place. Most stores that have managers that know what the he-l they are doing, don’t use. Corporate just instituted it to be as-----s.
