Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

Irvine, CA Closure

Walmart was one of my favorite stores. Good supply and best prices. However, I will stop going to this store because the nearest to me in Irvine, CA was recently closed. Now I have to go all the way across town to Foothill ranch on the east side of Lake Forest. I tried going there but the parking lot was way filled up and I could only imagine what it was like inside the store.

I imagine that this was because the other store on Technology in Irvine was closed that now all of those people are going to the one way on the east side of Lake Forest. I didn't even go inside and won't go back. Sadly, a lot of stores have closed. We really needed that store at the Technology St. location. I hope you will reconsider a new store in that area.

What does this have to do with layoffs?

The median distance to a Wal-Mart in the United States is 4.2 miles, and to a Target, five miles. So the typical person doesn't have to go far to shop at either place. Distances are larger for people in rural areas.

WM no longer has better prices than their competitors. If they do, it's just a few pennies.
Plus, in my case, I have so many more options than WM - Trader Joe's, Aldi's, Whole Foods, Kroger, Fresh Thyme, etc. WM has become a last resort store for me.

I actually have a WM within walking distance of me. It is a smaller format so doesn't carry as much and is always out of those handful of items on my shopping list if I stop by when in a pinch. So eff 'em. I'll spend my money elsewhere
