This week is my last week here, after many years. I remember a period when it was even nice to work here, when employees were much more valued and respected. In the meantime, all kinds of things happened and now this is a company that people are running away from. I wonder, could it have been different?

I had been at Macy's quite a long time and saw many managers come and go. Many of these managers were quite good and landed jobs at very upscale stores. For many years it seemed that Macy's was a training ground for other companies. Back then, many of the people left to take a better position with better benefits and higher pay. They would come back and shop and everyone was glad to see them again. It is sad to hear of so many people leaving because they dislike the conditions.
Yes it could of been different for you.. if you choose a different career path instead of wasting your life on macys..
Just recently resigned after 29 years. I loved my job in support but after getting called back from furlough last June it became unbearable. I made it through inventory but in February I called it a day as I could see things were only getting worse. My plan was to go 5 more years till retirement but it was not to be. I miss what it was pre Covid but now I could not be happier about my decision to leave. Still have friends there and they are very unhappy.
no it couldn't be different.. company is sinking you got out on the life raft
