It happens all the time. I wonder, how will all this affect this company? I put in maximum effort, I worked hard, and I was never promoted here. Still, I don’t worry much - it doesn’t mean I won’t be promoted in another company. What will the TIAA do if it continues to promote those who did not deserve it at all?

Oh, c’mon. It couldn’t have been THAT bad, could it?
Fail miserably. That's what they'll do. And anyone still there working in that wealth management business, you are either a sleazeball with no ethics or too stupid to work in this industry. By now, they all know that IAS, or whatever they call it these days was a boiler room that churned through advisors. How many advisor careers did they damage with false or misleading U5 notices? How many people did they "stack-rank" and put on a PIP because they unfairly compare their effort and results to a bunch of "chosen few" who were fed lead after lead after lead? All those chosen few were the ones who drank the kool-aid and scared the clients into a managed account. If you are still there, you may have made a bunch of money, but you are a loser of epic proportions even if you don't know it. The middle managers and senior leadership at that place were and still are, greedy dishonest sc-m.
