We’ve been short staffed for well over 6 months. My team and I are overworked with no relief in sight. When employees leave the positions aren’t backfilled. It feels like we are going out of business which could account for how cr---y our store looks, lack of merchandise and feeling like it’s crunch time whenever we are at work. Is this happening in other locations as well?

Yes, ur right, the stores r trying! But when it takes weeks/months to get a person hired it makes it literally impossible to hire people. Fix the system!
This is unfair. We are desperately trying to hire. Like most companies, we are not getting applicants. The job crisis is not limited to Macy's. We are offering $250 to refer someone who stays employed with us for 90 days. Everyone is working so hard.... I promise you stores are trying.
Who feels the short staffing system is a conspiracy by the company to make the quarterly #’s look better on the backs of running their colleagues literally into the ground!?
They did this to me for 8 months. No help and running up and down steps for 8-10 hrs a day pre pandemic. Exhausted, stressed , couldn’t eat or sleep. Yet Jeff sits in his little world dodging his biz.
Going to work soon - in this department, 1 person is working 10:00-4:00 and another person is working 3:45-10:00. Mall for this location closes at 8:00.
