"IBM SkillsBuild provides job seekers with ... marketable skills within three to six months"
Who the h-e-l-l can learn ANY tech in that amount of time AND use it in a professional, production-grade environment?
If I had stock in IBM, I'd dump it on that statement alone. You might as well say, "in 6 months, severely under-educated kids will be building our solutions"
Total nonsense!!
Kids may get out of college not knowing enough BUT tech companies and basically all companies that have IT dept will hire them (they are cheap) and spoon feed them so they can learn the job AND the companies can get rid of oldies (more expensive). Companies don't care for quality they are running for the bottom line
He does have a valid point. College degrees are worth nothing unless you get a masters degree in some advanced computer science curriculum. Almost all the kids these days have been screwed by these "Tech Colleges". They teach them nothing but a finger swipe on an ipad. That's why we have a skills gap. Pi-s poor educators screwing the children.
Yes, I agree, a total clown. He will ki-l IBM.
He's a total clown.
I have lost all respect and so has the industry.
