Schedule changing?

At my store someone is changing the schedule, adding days all after the schedule has been posted. I realize this is not “illegal” but it’s really out of hand. We are all scheduled to stay one hour after close to clean. I won’t disclose what state I am but need to know if this is a corporate move ?

Yes, they are very slick. The managers are now editing the schedules before it comes out for us to see. But it’s very obvious that the system didn’t give us that schedule. I have been given shifts on my off days, had my shifts extended and given an extra days when I am only a colleague who is supposed to get 28-32 hours per week. I am very sick of it.

Yes, its a CA store and our DVP is the one who encourages our store manager and MBA to make the schedule changes. He was yelling about how bad our recovery was during the last visit and everyone is afraid of being fired by him so the schedules are manually changed before the employees can see them. No one cares about the fact that we are running over so many hours since other stores don't fill theirs.

If our store opened when our mall opened and closed we would consistently have more coverage (and better customer scores) as there would be more overlap of staff. Instead, we get customer complaints about lack of staff and our customer scorecard is circling the bowl. We have so few people, even with recent hires, that the situation is not sustainable. This is not rocket science. I cannot fathom why it is so important to remain open when literally no other store in the mall is open and to make announcements about "the gate to the mall will be coming down in 5 minutes" so customers either need to move their cars to our back entrance or walk around the entire outside of the complex to get back to their vehicles if they continue to shop with us after the mall closes. It is insane. Oh, and did I mention that our sister store, Bloomingdales, also located in our mall, follows the mall hours?! Our store doesn't turn on the escalators, most of the lights or the AC until just before the doors open to the public in the morning. Of course this is a money-saving tactic. So why do we keep the building juiced up in addition to paying wages to those who are scheduled to work late into the night for the VERY few patrons who shop after 8pm? What is so hard about changing course and reverting back to a post-furlough schedule that makes sense and saves the company money AND creates a better staffed shopping experience for their customers. Just a thought.

Well in our store associates are schedule on weekdays until 9 pm and Fridays and Saturdays until 10 pm and Sundays at 8 pm. But weekdays we close at 8 pm and Sundays at 7 pm. The store is not following the mall schedules, the mall in my location open at 10 am till 9 pm and Sundays from 12 pm till 6 pm. Macy's is opening from 11 am till 8 pm and Sundays from 11 am till 7 pm. Just wondering if any of the Macy's stores are doing the same thing?

I look at my schedule everyday on insite and print it throughout the day when I am at work to see if it changes. Sometimes it does and I get it switched back. I have to keep up with it.
