Thread regarding Bed Bath & Beyond layoffs

Good vibes

My store sales are up, we are hiring. Back to college set and looks awesome with all of the new product lines.
Customers are complimenting the service. My manager keeps us informed about everything. Life is good at BBB.

Even if these posts are meant to be sarcastic at least they are a break from the negative and predictable posts such as..

  1. I am the hardest working person in my store. Maybe the whole company Maybe the whole world!
  1. We cant find any help and if we do they quit in a week. Part timers dont care.mI am the only one who cares.
  1. My manager is horrible and does nothing. Sits in their office all day
  1. MT knows nothing. I could run the company better! I have a High School diploma and have been a cashier for 6 months but I know I could!
  1. Customers are rude and stupid.
  1. When is the big meeting? What stores are closing? The end is near.

same in our store; what applicants we do get, 90% either don't show for orientation, or show for a max of a week and then just stop coming in

I mean we're hiring to but it's not because the store is doing good. We barely have employees. Half that we do get to do whatever they want. No call no show. Always calling out or coming in super late and SM doesn't care. We've hired a bunch of new people and the majority only last a week.

Our store is doing really well too. The new employees and managers are great! So knowledgeable and helpful. When we open the sun is shining, the birds are chirping and the customers rush in singing and dancing. Every Saturday one customer rides in on his unicorn spreading love and joy. It’s a great time!

The reason some of the uber positivity makes me question the reality of the posters, is that....the new merchandise really isn't all that great, or even 'new'. It's the same exact products we've always carried, with different packaging. It was just a few years back that our college stuff came in an extremely similar orange packaging to all the squared away college stuff we got this year

and the quality of almost all of our 'new' owned brands is below the quality of Salt, and the brands that came before Salt

I love the store I’m in!! We’ve been crazy busy! Hiring up and getting our remodel! There are good store leaders in our stores! The changes will be great for the company it will just take time.

Everything is hit-n-miss. Some stores are better than others.

You have hours and employees to get seasonal set? You must be lucky. Do you have a store manager too? Because ours has been on vacation for two weeks, and is coming back for 2 days before going on a leave of absence. Yes, some people are overly negative on here, but don't discount how bad some stores have it.

How do you know your sales are up? Our store manager tells us we don’t need to know. We just need to focus on finding the right items to feature are the rest will come. I’ve never worked for a company that was so secretive about sales.

Good to hear, it always depends on a store to store basis as some ‘bad’ stores just need a breathe of fresh air when it comes to management to really get things rolling again.

My store is being remodeled. Haven’t noticed much new. Busy at times. Dead other days.

Another person to look at if morale us down is YOURSELF. Are you part if the problem? Good to see a positive post!

Down votes coming in 3...2...1
That being said, not all stores are terrible to work in. Some stores have a positive vibe it really comes down to the managers and supervisors in the building. If the morale is down just look at the store management and district staff.
