Thread regarding Belk layoffs

Part Time, No Benefits, Open Availability, Under $11/hr

Belk's ideal employee would work part time, with no benefits, and be on call with open avilability for under $11. Interesting thing about this is that almost ZERO people took this offer when posted on job sights. And the people that do accept are usually under 18 looking for a short term job. Belk's out of touch corporate/ HRBP still think they can attract employees with this offer and by adding the $300 sign on bonus, but that is proving to be a complete failure also.

For the remaining retailers, there are opportunities for customer service jobs in local and state municipalities. Many seniors chose retirement options due to Covid. A vast new path for youth. Skip the fast food option, even if offering $15/hr. Better benefits and career options.

Retail today and in the future is nothing more than unskilled labor. You can do better at fast food companies.
