NCR replacing actual Macy's Techs was the beginning of the end of the good old Macy's IMO. BTW, smart, let's outsource IT, to most likely the lowest bidder.
Just as they moved Human Resources to a call center and we see how that didn’t work so why not move AP to a call center.
Macy’s may as well be an online retailer with what the company has become.
Oh nooo!! Sears! 😲 🙉
Sounds just like Sears.
I knew that AP has been down sized and integrated has been in the works but I didn't think they would actually get rid of physical AP completely. That makes a lot of sense, how is someone watching from a monitor miles away, maybe even a different city, going to stop the grab and run criminals. Better yet, how is Macy's going to invest in a security system that is better than physical AP, they can't even build a decent Macysjobs.com website. Recently a group went to several states hitting several Macy's, somehow they got access to registers and took all the cash taking thousands of dollars all together. Our store had 3 registers get hit by a single person, I'm sure they had a lookout. If our gReAt AP who is in charge of watching cameras from within can't spot this outside person come in, open 3 registers and take the cash, how is someone miles away going to catch that?
Yes removing the RFID stickers off the shopping bags boxes helps but it does not completely solve the problem. We have been doing this for several years and each year around this time, we still don't get everything we need. Case in point, we have not received any shoe size/ shirt bags in almost 3 months, so we are having to give out the larger bags for a single shirt, b-a, shoes etc. That means that even though the system (RFID) tells it you need this and that, there is still someone checking it, looking at the budget and deciding how bad you need it. They also take into account how your sales # are. When you don't get what you need, after a while the store manager has to get involved and make it happen.
yes AP is going to be replaced by Integrated remote Monitoring system.. basically a call center that will watch the store and phone in internal/external shopping lifting.
AP?! You’re lucky if you still have any AP at all...most stores haven’t had it since the February 2020 cuts...anything smaller than $25 million in volume is just left to get robbed blind daily, we watch people run out the door with entire fixtures lol and before you say “oh it’s a bad part of town...” no... my store is in a nice suburban area...but when you give someone an opportunity to very easily steal from you...they’ll take advantage! All day long!!
We run out of bags all the time. The system is automated so you can't just order what you need the RFID tracking system does it for you. Remove the RFID labels from your supplies when they come in DO NOT LEAVE THEM IN THE STORE. The RFID System will pick them up even if they are thrown away in store that will help that problem. Our merch sucks too. Nobody wants the store brands either. Doing away with Nike Nautical Tasso Elba in Mens is stupid its like they are trying to sink my store on purpose
