Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

SF is sinking at lightning speed

At first I hoped the company would get back on track. Later I accepted that nothing would be the same as before but I hoped the fall would not be as fast. It is now clear to me that this is sinking at the speed of light. Can't they at least slow down the decline of this company? Last one out please turn off the lights.

They just think their sales systems and out of the box systems like Guide wire and AI for claims handling and scripts and cookie cutter service systems will satisfy the need foe experienced folks. All products.

lol. I’m a Progressive’s customer. Hate their claims
Process and decisions and procedures gouging select customers. Despite being number 1

All cos are working with same systems and data that lacks integrity at this point.

Tech & leaders did not make very sound decisions perhaps.

Well you can tell the managers/accountants from the claim handlers on this thread very nicely. On paper SF is doing great. Talk to any of the thousand workers directly handling our core business and dealing with the people who pay us (customers) will tell a much more bleak story of SF. Why is that? What is being done to remedy that?

Answer: hire more programmers to replace more handlers.

But some here wonder why some are not as happy as SF is looking financially on paper. Do you manager types see this as a problem or not? From what i can tell this doesnt appear to be on the radar of SF as being a significant issue. These ignored issues are going to cause massive issues for this company down the road, once the legacy handlers all retire. The stock of handlers being prepared for tomorrows complex handling isnt there. All the great workers are leaving in droves, unable to move up, and not being rewarded for their efforts vs the people who just who show up for a check.

That is what should be concerning to all SF employees....unless SF plans to drop insurance handling in the future, which wouldnt surprise me, SF seems wholly uninterested in anything other than reducing the costs of doing their core business....maybe GAINSCO purchase was to give us more insight with how to do the bare minimum for our customers.

So thats the disconnect between SF handlers and everyone else....

There may be record growth with the policies but there are also record complaints. What good are having more policies if we don’t have people to handle the claims when they come in? We need solutions. We do not need heavier work loads. If we don’t address this, we are going to be fined big time. I’ve seen some stuff and I know management are going to blame the adjusters. I am working harder than ever before and it just doesn’t make any difference. Our numbers just keep going up because we have more claims and less people to handle them.

Sinking? In a sea of profit, maybe.

What is your definition of sinking at record speed? It apparently isn’t based on a business metric. SF is having its best year in its 99 year history...you’re aware of that right?

I’d suggest you go to the EIP site. Customer sat is through the roof, and SF just flew up the JD Power rankings for service and shopping. Your employee EIP bonus is 155% of target!

So how do you define sinking? You seem pretty disconnected from reality or just aren’t that business savvy

Record auto production, strongest growth in decades, auto underwriting profit, highest capital position in history and the entire auto industry, high customer satisfaction. Are you just ignorant of facts or been watching too much media and think you can make up your own facts?

I knew new leadership was going to turn SF into as bad as other insurance carriers, I just wasnt prepared for them to make it worse.
