Are you very sure GF turns a profit? Other than the Singapore sites, I highly doubt the German or USA fabs breakeven. F8/9/10 cost is simply too high not to mention the crazy depreciation, no way GF is profitable like other companies. Of course, if you don't count depreciation bla bla bla, just like Delta or United Airlines CEO telling you plane depreciation should not be counted in their cost despite making up a huge portion of the capital.

Is it considered fraud if investors get so caught up in the semiconductor shortage and don't dig deeper into the company's management, finances, and technical capability? We only appears profitable the last few years because of financial engineering (aka cleaning up books), selling used tools, waiting for old Capex to roll off. There's a tiny window to thread the needle for an ipo before spending has to increase again. In the US, costs have been cut to extreme measures, experienced employees are leaving daily with no replacements (new college graduates don't count as adequate replacements), there is no real technology road map or growth plan for the future. If anyone on Wall Street does their due diligence and scratches below the surface, they'll realize this is a company simply hoping to cash in on the semiconductor shortage. Better hope nothing goes wrong because there's no one here who understands fundamental IC processing or semiconductor device physics. We read SPC charts, react with sops for ooc events, and management only cares about cost cutting projects. There's no vision for the future from the ceo, no interest in technology development, simply shut up and run more 14nm wafers (where wafer prices are dropping and smic/umc competition is ramping up). Don't be a bag holder if this company ever IPOs
