Sorry for stupid question, but I wonder if it could happen that they stop paying me immediately after I give notice. Some people have advised me not to notice at all, which is not very ethical, but Macy's is not a very ethical company either. Still, I wonder if anyone happened to be fired after giving notice?

@3suz Of course Macy's hires back ex employees. We rehired a number of them in our Macy's store.
? Of course Macy's hires ex employees! All the time! We have several that were let go last summer after COVID reductions who came back this year.
You’re not coming back so....why does it matter? Macy’s doesn’t rehire ex employees like some companies will.
The right thing is to give a notice....but don’t expect them to be thrilled when you do.
If you are in California and give notice the employer has to pay you till the end of your notice. They may tell you to leave immediately but they have to pay you till the end of your notice. If they don't contact the CA State Labor Board.
Try adulting and give a two weeks notice. That's the right thing to do regardless if anything "some people" are telling you.
take a deep breath.. look at how stressful you are.. there are better jobs ..better pay.. and a future.. now tell everyone your going to lunch... enjoy your lunch and never ever look back
If you're worried about getting fired on the spot I've heard of people giving one week or just a few days notice
Colleagues have been fired after giving notice. The termination code is inputted as cannot be rehired. No notice is job abandonment.
