Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Not enough younger people

There are still too many older people at CVX who keep holding the company back due to their outdated ideas on how things should be done. This is true from the highest level to the lowest. If we're to continue dominating the industry, we need more young people to make sure we don't become outdated and irrelevant, which is a real possibility.

You need young bright people and the older experienced workers who know the business and to pass down the knowledge. You need both. Not too many of one or the other. None of this is new, novel or has ever changed.

Lol. If they’re smart, young people don’t want anything to do with this industry.

It hard to attract younger people to a company that keeps making archaic decisions.

Young people can't stay focused in a planning meeting much less actually execute a plan. Yes, adults still plan. Think of planning like that thing you do after payday to ensure that you spend some of your income on things other than crawfish and shots.

Young people have enough sense to avoid a dying industry destined for prolonged stock collapse due to unpopularity.

Not really but continue to tell yourself that.

Chronologically younger people are not going to help anything. Workforces need people with progressive, foreward-thinking and new ideas.... which is not a function of someone’s age. A workforce actually needs less people like the OP whom obviously is just chumming the waters here and probably lacks any of the qualities most industries would benefit from.
