Let’s be honest if they never opened nyc those 16 stores would have never closed. However we are where we are. What happened to the rumors of consolidating the Men’s store into the women’s tower? I thought it made customer and money sense. Would give a big opportunity for cross-sell as well, if they care about that anymore. Once you enter the women’s store it is obvious the men’s store was a last minute afterthought they put in some random office building across the street.

Sunk costs and reputation at stake, they can’t just roll it up like that NM in Hudson Yards. I still plan to visit store 212 and at least have lunch there, once NYC is back in order. I’m still amazed that the facade was not damaged during the riots and chaos last year. You had professionals rolling up trucks on 5th Avenue jewelers, unloading serious tools for their work, emptying the place, but the shiny new Nordstrom in midtown survived ok.
Hopefully will be there this fall. Foot traffic looked decent in store 001 this past Saturday.
