Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Well, something’s going on...

Because for the first time in a long time, there are no liquidating stores. Interesting...

@gxc+1b71fI2s No conspiracy theory, but currently no closing stores either.

I work for one among the numerous liquidators that TransformCo did not pay around February of last year. Sears had hired pretty much every major liquidator over the years, including the ones that made competing bids for Sears during the bankruptcy. The bills piling up were one the impetuses behind the sale of Innovel, lest TransformCo itself be forced into involuntary bankruptcy, as well as the mounting interest payments to various banks. It doesn't take many vendors in arrears to force involuntary Chapter 11 at all. Virtually no reputable liquidator will work with Transform or any Eddie Lampert associated entity any longer, just those which he has a personal stake in. He cheated liquidators just like any other vendor, but we're used to these shenanigans, so we and others took him to town.

To the poster below....once again, Eddie does not Pay liquidators. They PAY HIM. When SB360 closes a store, they purchase it from Ed (thus PAYING HIM). They buy the store, then close it. Whenever he choses to close a location, he sells it to SB360, who then takes over the operations (and owns everything inside the store) until closing Day. Ed does not close stores. He sells them to SB 360, who then closes them.

Did Eddie forget to pay the liquidator's bills again?

That's because these are the "go forward" stores now. Expect new store openings and some reopenings here soon. I can't wait!

We have been doing so much better across all businesses, today especially because of labor day we are projecting a huge increment in foot traffic and online sales.
