Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Engine1 / ESG Only Interesting in "dealing a blow" to oil Majors

Don't believe for a minute that the ESG movement / Engine1 have the interest of the stockholder in their heart, or even the health of humanity in a constructive way. They will sell the stock as soon as they have done the damage the intent to cause. They don't even want to hear about carbon sequestration now that they understand that the traditional fossil fuel industry might benefit. These people just want to stop all drilling, and hope for a miracle. While change is urgently needed, and this blow might be a way to wake DW out of his zombie stupor , watch what you wish for.

The people on this site about doom and gloom to O&G because of engine 1 is just hilarious. Mainly just stupid boomers that tow the company line that the past is the only way forward.

I for one am hoping for a drastic change to how this company operates and pushing for more sustainable (non-O&G only investment).

Carbon capture is a failed and expensive experiment that will never come to fruition. The refining and transportation network isn't the problem. Carbon capture needs to happen at the source (cars) for it to even be remotely effective. Exxonmobil has even been pushing that campaign for decades now.

The Bloomberg article that just came out detailing how DW & Company were begging people to flip their votes is hilarious. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-05-29/exxon-mobil-s-last-ditch-attempt-to-stave-off-a-climate-coup
