Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

All of our appliance specialists that had been there for years have now left. The company taking away their supplemental pay that was to make up for loss of spiffs was apparently the last straw for the last one that was there. Add in the constant dealing with third party delivery complaints has just made the problem worse. What used to be a plum position in the store is now one that nobody wants. Its apparent to me that the executives running our company just view appliance dept employees as order-takers that any person can perform and not knowledgeable sales professionals that can intelligently explain product features/benefits and close sales. Now I see more people getting their appliances at Home Depot and even Wayfair, as Lowe's no longer is committed to distinguishing itself in the delivery piece.

I’m hearing a lot of store managers are in agreement, too many liability issues already. Damaged appliances, doorways, leaking icemaker lines, washer supply lines not on tight, broken shut off valves. Dishonest delivery teams trying to misinform customers that certain, regular responsibilities of their deliveries, are not. In a hurry to bang the appliances through the door and in place so they can run on to the next stop. Rude, disrespectful delivery personnel playing the language barrier card. A complete fail. The last impression that Lowe’s has left is a very bad look. You know— that “World Class Customer Service”. That’s ok though, corporate doesn’t get the angry phone calls, we do.

Been with this company for 15 years. I agree. Biggest mistake ever. I'm on the phone with customers over 6 hours a day fielding complaints after it started. Half of those same customers told me they'd never use Lowe's for anything again. For the love of God please do away with this program.
