Customers ask “What’s your big promotions for Memorial Day”? I say, “Not much, we are out of everything!” or “You can buy two appliances and only receive one damaged”. “Check out our extensive Scratch and Dent Third Party promotions!”

Being in the appliance department is absolutely BRUTAL. The almost never ending "out of stock" status of what must be around 50% of what we have on the showroom floor combined with the directive of not being able to sell into the negative (Florida XDT market) combined with the customers many times not being very understanding makes for a VERY long shift. Conversation often starts with customer stating they would like to purchase a complete LG appliance set (so they can get the additional 10% LG promotion). Then after 30+ minutes of exploring a half dozen (or more) different combinations you find that the only item you are possibly able to sell them (again we have been specifically directed NOT TO SELL INTO THE NEGATIVE) is the dishwasher. Customer takes a walk without purchasing anything and the conversation begins again with the next customer. And when your not doing that your busy answering the phone with yet another customer appliance internet order or 3rd party / XDT delivery complaint. Then you get to look forward to hearing the sermon from your Specialty Sales ASM or SM about not hitting you numbers. Would like to see them do my job for a couple weeks just to shut their mouths.
