I heard he is related to the founders of Murphy Oil Corporation. He started at the very bottom, pumping toilets on a rig. He doesn’t play games like rigged economics and he hates debt. Just saw his post on LinkedIn on his announcement that his name is in the hat for the next CHK CEO. Anyone know this guy? Sounds like he can make a difference.

Sean would be an excellent CEO.
He knows where the rotten apples are, and he would not hesitate to purge them all.
Starting from his own former team in completions, Phinney, Loxthond, Martell, Healyzondo, etc.
Of course it's going to be a finance guy.
CHK is nothing but a compensation scheme for incompetent, none too bright, dirt bags, masquerading as an Exploration Company. Ask either Loxton or Anna, if you don't believe me.
Uber cons run CHK to benefit insiders, their friends, families and their mistresses.
That's probably the number one benefit of being in the insider group--you can get CHK and the investors to finance your philandering and provide jobs for the friends and family of your paramours.
No one at CHK has any idea how to run an exploration and production company and make a PROFIT.
As CHK is in business solely per constructive Welfare from the Feds I say the name of the new company should be "The Peoples Republic of Chesapeake."
CHK should then either move its home office to San Francisco or OKC should change its name to San Francisco, Oklahoma.
Kirkland and Ellis would charge CHK 10 million dollars for the advice I have given for free in this post. I still have a soft soft in my heart for CHK.
God bless.
Need to find away to weed out those in management having personal agendas that are not in the best interest of Chesapeake. Maybe an anonymous upward assessment by subordinates of managers and VP’s will help Chesapeake clean house. As for Sean, I knew him to be a person that put Chesapeake first in spite of how his recommendations could negatively affect his career. I am surprised he lasted as long as he did. As guess being right most of the time helped extend his career. Anyone remember the $20MM gas frac pushed through by a couple of VP’s? It didn’t work and upper management acted so surprised even though Sean showed them multiple times why it wouldn’t work before the idea was approved. Got to give Sean a little credit for having the guts to do what is best for Chesapeake. Maybe the new BOD will recognize Chesapeake needs leadership that puts Chesapeake’s priorities over their own personal agendas.
Lol hilarious he’s a laid off engr don’t think he’s gonna be chosen to run this companies process (let’s call it what it is). Although likely more qualified, it will be some finance dude who has done m&a in the shitco space.
