Next time you meet with a Team Manager, Section Manager, or anyone up the food chain ask them: Tell me....How am I able to afford a home, raise a family, pay my bills with my salary? How can I afford an average quality of life with my salary? Their response will be continue to work but think about it....They are buying your time for your demise.

If you expect, say , $100k/ year, then you should be able to show how you bring at least $140k/yr to State Farm. (On top of your salary they pay payroll taxes and benefits). This is a for profit business. Your showing up does not, in itself, justify the wage you expect.
Agents understand that, because they sign the front side of several paychecks.
It depends on who you schmooze with. Be truthful.
Consider most of the people commenting here are low level claims employees. My base is 140k, and I’m not very far up. It just depends on your department and the skills you bring.
Live within your means? Laughable. Just another way of saying: You're slave labor! Do the math or are you too busy trying to figure out how to spend your money.
Very simple, live within your means.
Its an interesting "transformation" happening in the industry. In the past people got here one way or the other (never as a desired profession few choose the route of claim adjuster from the start) but always stayed in insurance as a career due to company stability and ability to live a reasonable American dream life.
Now with that acceptable level of American dream out the window moving forward, i have to ask myself....why even be in insurance? Its dull work no one wants to do, with starting pay i wouldnt have accepted back in 1990 its so low, and nearly no upward mobility options, he-l i know CA rock stars that it took them 8 years and multiple 5 ratings to get out the the CA prison system.
So whats the appeal with SF and insurance, now that pension is off the table, and they are paying $35k for 100x the work as any other call center, with the same toxic call center work environment?
Does SF at all wonder why the quality of applicants keeps declining? Do they not see a connection?
Man, you would think it is January with all the snowflakes blowing around.
I have nicely… raised 2 kids, put them through college… on SF salary. SF doesn’t OWE YPU sheet….
The problem with some in the “young generation” you want it NOW and your work ethic sucks.
If I were a young employee, I wouldn't waste anymore time working at SF. Get out, not worth it. Total toxic environment with no benefits.
Would that be the same as a parking lot discussion.
@qlk+1b34bUVZ definitely leadership attitude. Deserves a little paring lot discussion.
Maybe that double major of basket weaving and art appreciation is not paying off like you thought it would?
