Thread regarding IBM layoffs

Who were the target groups at GTS?

I worked at GTS and luckily left a month ago. Someone mentioned that in their team of 50 people, half of the employees received a call. That's awful. I'm really interested in what the work will look like and what the atmosphere will be like in that team after those people are gone.

Question for those still at IBM. Are all GTS teams heading over to Kyndryl?

If anyone out there got the package to move over to "K", can you please share some details like
are you able to keep your salary/band/401k matching?

Also, what are the new WFH rules there?

GTS’s biggest problem isn’t technical expertise, but rather too much management overhead. GTS has always used the mantra of cost takeout even before the ink is dry. Most other outsourcers do the same, BUT they do it from a much skinnier management layer. IBM just couldn’t chop the management layer, so they decided to spin it off, and let the new organization sort it out. It will not surprise me if IBM over stuffs Kyndryl with excess management, and then let’s Kyndryl drop the ax on them via a bridge to retirement
