How many who work for Bass would be professional and give 2 weeks’ notice? How many here would just quit once you’ve found other employment? Bass is my first job, but I’ve found something that would be better suited for me. My future employer wants to start me ASAP but will allow me to begin in 2 weeks since the company knows I’m currently employed. Would you quit on the spot and begin your next job or would you do the proper thing and give notice so you don’t burn any bridges?

Give notice. No brainer
Give 2 weeks notice. Reason is that you may have to go back to BP one day for a job and also it is the lesser evil of appearing like you don't care about burned bridges. The new employer might care about that optic.
Give your 2 weeks notice. Any employer that does not resect the 2 week notice is not professional. Tell him you will give him 2 weeks when you quit.
