If you are as tired as I was with HR not doing anything about the consistent discrimination that goes on in the workplace. Start a union. The Nation Labor Relations Act protects employees and allows them the right to form, join or assist a union. The NLRA also grants employees the legal right to engage in activities with each other or on behalf of themselves and others to address working conditions. Management cannot legally interfere or prevent these activities from occurring. This is considered to be protected concerted activity and there is nothing that management can do legally to prevent this from happening. HR is not there to protect you or to help you. Their only function is to protect and serve the company. If you want a voice in how you are being treated, then a union is your best route. I will be providing resources and material to a few individuals that are interested in creating a union. If you are interested I would suggest self educating and joining the group sessions when they start. They have had ample opportunity to do the right thing and have chosen to do the opposite.

Lastly ~ if you are being pressured to return to campus and if you don’t feel safe or are unhappy with your work conditions. (As in the most recent town hall) Know that is a protected concerted activity of refusing to comply with their draconian authority when your safety is in question. If you want someone to represent you and be looking out for your best interest, sign the petition that will be circulating to join a union. HR has shown to tolerate and condone consistent discriminatory actions and this shows that they are only there to look out for the best interest of the company and not its employees.
Be looking for a social media group invite to become more involved.
First ~ your comments on here about work are 100% protected because they are considered to be Protected Concerted Activity. You could remain Anonymous or you could bold enough to put your name it doesn’t matter. Management is required by law to follow TIPS.
TIPs is an acronym that stands for threaten, interrogate, promise, and spy. Management is not allowed to try to figure out who is trying to talk about unions or who may be getting fellow associates to do something that is protected under the law. Management cannot offer or provide anything to discourage associates from engaging in any union related to a protected concerted activity whether at work or online. Your comments on this social media platform is 100% protected as a protected concerted activity. And lastly management cannot respond to any statement on here that would be considered to be a protected concerted activity that may be perceived to be a threat to your employment. If you hear or receive questions about who may be making these posts please bring this to the attention during our first working group session. The only thing that management can do is provide facts, their own personal opinions, or their own experiences that they may have with a union.
