People in general are always prone to biased truth, however, this is the reality:
Layoffs were made not based on contributions, knowledge, dedication, efficiency, professionalism or seniority, but on connection to and liking or disliking by senior managers. It's simple truth of what happened. It's disgrace to management.
When a colleague got laid off who was one of the greatest experts who added a lot of value to this company, I realized that it all depends only on the personal impression/ animosity of the manager.
