Halliburton Plunges on Disappointing Forecast for Slowing Growth

Great I was hoping these year I would get my 4% raise. Its time to find a new job

Halliburton Co. tumbled after warning investors that demand for its oil–drilling and fracking services won’t continue grow as much as it did in recent months.

The world’s biggest provider of fracking services fell as much as 7.4% for the day’s second–worst performance in the S&P 500 Index. North American order growth will “moderate” during the current quarter relative to the first three months of this year, while overseas drilling margins will drop as much as 1.25 percentage points. Chief Financial Officer Lance Loeffler cited a seasonal dip in sales of oilfield software.

The guidance suggests second–quarter operating income will come in below expectations, said George O’Leary, an analyst at Tudor, Pickering, Holt & Co.

Work: Millions of Americans are unemployed, but companies in industries like construction and restaurants still can't find enough people to hire. ‘Wall Street Journal & Houston Examiner’ May 5, 2021’

Interesting-Have you seen Halliburton’s Job Postings lately; Same Jobs have been on our Job / Careers Web Sight beginning December, 2020; and gotten worse for Halliburton in past 3 mts.

Why are there no takers / candidates for these posted positions; we all know why we see the inside of Halliburton as employees for who they really are. 😅🙈😅

" So is that why the evidence of that job was destroyed?

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/halliburton–pleads–guilty–destruction–evidence–connection–deepwater–horizon–disaster–and"

Undoubtedly Halliburton took the cheapest way out, KNOWING that the administration of the American HATING Kenyan, would have spared NO effort to put Halliburton out of business, just as one has to wonder how much of that fine, was distributed to the 'president', his attorney general, and other high ranking government officials involved in the 'investigation'.

Also, for no more than Halliburton had to pay, it was NOT worth losing BP's future business over.

"As in the FAULTY cement job on the BP Macondo well......"

WHICH WAS done following BP's instructions, after ignoring the advice of Halliburton's representatives.

The most telling thing was when the CEOs of Shell, Chevron, Exxon, and Conoco Phillips came out stating that THEY would have NEVER approved a well plan that used the same procedures as what BP had used.

So will Mark R cut even more layers of management so he will still not talk to them?
Will he and Jeff get a few trips on the jet to Alaska?
Will they reestablish the H sponsorship of Iditarod?
Will they fly in bottles of aunt Jemima for the Calgary stampede days?
Where is Lesar when we need boondoggle take overs of more non profit companies?????

Halliburton certainly loves to talk about its FRACCING prowness, seemingly forgetting its roots in cementing, downhole tools and testing, and thanks to OTIS, its well completions, and, BEFORE Halliburton ran it into the ground, Sperry–Sun and its directional service. (No need to mention continuing UNDER performers like HLS, nee WELEX, or Multi–Chem)
To get back on track, in the typical shale plays, just WTF does Halliburton have to offer that 9 or 10 Mom and Pop pressure pumping services can't do? Remember that the founders of these second or third tier companies were, for the most part, EX–Halliburton employees, and their crews in the field ARE largely former frac hands that had left for greener ($$) pastures.
Just as in cementing, Halliburton production enhancement ONLY stands out on HPHT wells, where Halliburton HAS the technology, research, and past successes to perform these unique types of job.

No surprise here. The emphasis on clean energy will put a damper in all OFS companies but Halliburton worse than others I would imagine. No innovation or willingness to change. Their only response to the clean energy initiative was Halliburton labs (which is a joke) and infringing on a patent for electric frac fleets. Seasonal dip in sales of software? Don't think so. Landmark has been losing market share for years to Schlumberger and they can't compete with the smaller niche firms that have better software. The Phd's taught themselves as experts; however, they have never practiced their trade in the real world. Smoke and mirrors will only get you so far.
