Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Why are you getting so emotionally invested in Macy's?

I can't believe how many people are getting emotionally invested in Macy's and what's been happening with it. Macy's is not your company. It's not a company you built so you need to get all bent out of shape over it. It's a place that pays you below–average to do above–average amount of work. When they stop, you'll find somebody else who will. That's it. Just let it go.

It’s simple. Macy’s Conveyor belt style of employees has ran its course. What company you know lays off it’s top sale people? Only Macy’s. Why ? Cause it looks good on paper and ceo gets his 11 million plus bonuses for “ saving the company “ going forward it’s only gonna get worse

Macys just forgot about customers. To go ahead they have to be affordable and take their product to every level. Stop bringing in the same goods in multiple depts.
Make the employees that care more important than those who don’t. Results should count , not how many times you say yes and do nothing. Stop the popularity contests and just start taking care of customers and listen.

Yes, agree in part that for ones health, one should let this go. The hesitation people may have is due to this company shrouding itself in a false narrative of "Teams Win" Team building, promoting and driving high levels of commitment from their employees.
This with a promise of with hard work comes rewards. When in fact hard work is just rewarded with ever larger workloads for below average pay.
Then when you have followed all practices, achieved company goals and completely accepted their high demands to your detriment, you are let go and discarded like an used rag. They move on to the next younger, eager, naïve individual who is willing to take less pay.
I have to disagree with your comment regarding "It's not a company you built". This company would be NOTHING if not for it's employees. Macy's was built on the backs of their employee's, and is suffering due to their practices and ongoing dismissal of a seasoned, knowledgeable workforce.
