At present much of the GTS workforce is contractors.
Best guess is they would be first to go once the split is complete and kyndryl is trying to get the ROI per person to look right?

I'm the lone contractor is on a team of 4 Proposal Managers. Two of the full timers have been RA'ed and the 3rd one is on loan from GBS so will probably be gone too. Haven't been told my fate yet, but have a feeling that I will be left holding the bag :) If that's the case, I'll lay myself off
Much of the GBS workforce is contractors too. It’s because our rates aren’t sustainable for what clients are willing to pay for commodity work. IBM’s rates contain such high overhead for bureaucracy– executives and back office organizations with no value add. We are losing work constantly and have to operate on a shoestring budget as a result, leading to poor customer experiences. Armonk doesn’t care though.
Regarding : "OP is an outside troll. Anyone who’s been around for at least two days knows how they govern contractor’s hours and costs. Don’t feed this troll. "
No, I'm not a troll. LOL!
Been in the biz for 36 years. Worked or IBM on 4 different ocassions over those years.
I just have no way to gauge this. Was looking for insight.
I have no idea how the hours and costs for contractors, despite having been both "real IBM" and "contractor IBM".
What I will say is... this industry needs to kick contracting companies out of the mix and split the money the contacting companies get between the worker and actual employer/client.

Layoff contractors and replace them with what??!! IBM has laid off the best they've had in fulltime. SOMEONE has to do the actual grunt work.
So – what's left??? A.I. robots?
