There is something very wrong about the company when I have to go through several layers of management to finally get the information I needed. Why is that the case? Is there a specific need for all the processes to be this complicated? I know I'm ranting but this makes my job so much harder for no good reason.

How true. Accountability alright. Nobody moves and nobody gets hurt
Management will kneecap you every chance they get. I asked a work related question to a supervisor one day about who do you contact about something (nothing big), he promptly reported it to my supervisor like a 3rd grade tattletale. Every one of them are just s––m.
At Conoco Phillips anything you say can and will be used against you. That’s why the most successful people only communicate in platitudes slogans and soundbites.
It’s because no one feels comfortable making a decision. Our culture doesn’t penalize slowness, incompetence or inaction. But one misstep or overreach can hurt you.
