Thread regarding Emerson Electric Co. layoffs

Major layoffs at RAS

There was a post about major layoffs at RAS and especially ESI that was removed, I'm assuming because the poster used names (which is not allowed here.) I'm hoping we can get the discussion going again here and post more info on what's going on just without using identifiers. This is an important subject, let's keep it clean and informative.

Why do these posts reflect “no responses “ when there are 6?

The accusations that all of the problems at Zedi, Geofields and ESI are one person’s fault is false. You could argue that these companies should not have been bought by Emerson. But, given all we have been through and continue to deal with in the oil & gas space there is a good chance all three of these companies would be out of business completely today had they not been bought by Emerson.

It appears that ESI employees are pleading for their future and the future of their business unit through this forum. Emerson does not allow candid discussion. So sad.

The layoffs that is happening at ESI is because of PD. He caused the downfall of ESI, just like he did with Geofields. He singlehandedly destroyed Geofields. This coming layoffs will put ESI on a downward spiral. There is only one person to blame, PD. Wake up, SM and RM. Do something. Take action. Wake up from your slumber.

RAS is the worst business unit because of poor leadership or rather no leadership.

Felt sorry for ESI employees. They don’t have avenue to raise their concerns and have to raise it in this forum.

PD has destroyed this nice business.

I agree that RAS is the worse BU to be in. Also, ESI, Geofields, Zedi are in the wrong BU. Geofields is dead as alluded to by previous post and PD is doing the same to ESI, which will eventually vanish, not so soon because ESI is a solid business. However, even solid business will be destroyed by poor leader. Sorry for those in ESI to see a great business destroyed by poor leadership.

The best way to handle the stress is to find a different job. Please don’t stay at a place that will have you checking this website for updates regarding layoffs. There is nothing you can to do and when the axes falls, it will have nothing to do with you or your value as an individual.

Of all the divisions at Emerson, RAS is on a death March. It is not wise to be hoping to build a career there. And Emerson as a whole is struggling and will continue to struggle. There are much better companies out there who are hiring and will treat you better.
