I graduated last year and was researching companies that I am considering applying for. I happen to come across this platform while looking to see if layoffs were a normal occurrence. I’ve searched Glassdoor and the reviews seem to be positive. But it seems to be the polar opposite here. I would like some honest input concerning anyone’s overall experience. Any input would be appreciated.

Glassdoor has good and bad reviews but a lot of reviews on Glassdoor are fake. It would appear a month after layoffs a crazy amount of positive views appear. If you see nothing but positive back to back to back - I would classify that as fake. But FirstAM is not a leading edge company - it’s not a place that will jump out on your resume or get your foot in the door at major companies. FirstAM is more of a place you go to just to end your career. But the company is going through a crazy time right now and in the future… the business is not as needed as in the pass and may not exist if a Silicon Valley company ever wants to disrupt the industry
It depends on what department you go to. If you are in IT or data analytics I would stay away at all cost. As FirstAM is not well set up in either department – you will actually learn bad habits that will hurt you when you leave GA... if you go into sales of products that is different... sales are sales although GA is doing everything in their power to cut commissions right now... the business of title insurance is changing right now... in 10 years FirstAM may not exists if a start up comes in and creates a new business model of the industry...
Just do research on layoffs at FirstAM. You will see that during Christmas every year layoffs occur. This is a reality that FirstAM prides itself on.... layoffs are part of the benefit package...
