Texas earthquakes

Any thoughts about whether recent quakes in Texas are due to more oil field activity.

There’s evidence from the Bureau of Economic Geology’s TexNet CISR data that seismicity is being induced during horizontal well stimulation in the Delaware Basin. This is different from the problem in Oklahoma where waste water was being disposed into a formation adjacent to deep seated faults.

Induced seismicity from wastewater disposal and (to a lesser degree) hydraulic fracturing are proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. However I’m not familiar with the recent Texas quakes so can’t say for sure.

It’s definitely from fracking. Fracking and oil and gas activity is root of most major issues in the world. Climate change, earthquakes, Coronavirus. Just about everything😉
